Frequently Asked Question

CLASSIC - What is the MNGP and what are the rubber keys used for ?
Last Updated 6 years ago

USB activity indicator is a Mis-Print, the GREEN LED on the MNGP is the FLOAT indicator.  At an earlier time the GREEN LED may have been used for USB debugging but as of this time it seems only to be used to indicate FLOAT and FLOAT MPPT using SOLID and FLASHING.

The RED LED can be used to debug communications between the MNGP and the Classic.
It is turned on in the LED MODE menu as COMM TEST.  Best to leave it alone unless instructed by Tech Support.

The Yellow LED may look ORANGE or slightly OFF-YELLOW depending on the parts vendor.

NOTE: MNGP is Mid Nite Graphics Panel. The MNGP is a setup & monitor terminal that communicates with the Classic using serial data over the blue 6 conductor flat cable.  Once programmed the MNGP is not needed for the Classic to operate and any failure in it will not effect a properly setup Classic.

The MNGP uses a BLUE BACKGROUND around the TEXT that is to be modified aka the BLUE CURSOR. To move it and make changes use the 4 ARROW KEYS which look like triangles around the ENTER Button.  Pressing ENTER saves your changes and the CURSOR disappears.  To get it back just PRESS the RIGHT ARROW Key.

Pressing the STATUS BUTTON while in any of the menus will put the display on STATUS Page-1.  Pressing MAIN MENU will go back to the last place you were at previously. It is suggested you "HOME" the BLUE CURSOR by pressing MAIN MENU repeatedly until you see CHARGE then press STATUS.  This is called "Homing the Cursor" so the next time you press MAIN MENU you start back at the begining of the main menu list.

While in MAIN MENU you can use the SOFT KEYS to Zoom to either end of the MENU LIST or the LEFT/RIGHT Arrows to move one selection at a time.
